i'm dreading the "PS3 sucks" and "PS3 rules" threads when the system actually launches. I tend to stay away from ATOT when xbox 360, star wars III, or any other major geek release hits.

Yes people selling thier preorders are dumb. The price is only going to go up and settling for a measly 3200 is the worst thing you can do. a couple weeks before xmas this bad boy is going to be going for tens of thousands of dollars.

If preorders go for anywhere between $1500-3200, then it wouldn't be a stretch that actual consoles could go for at least $2000-4000 on the 17th.

Target in Edgewater, NJ had security for the 360 launch (I was too far back in line <sigh>). The 360s were even locked in cages!

Most all the retailers around here lock the 360s and games away in cages. In fact, Costco is the only retailer I've visited that doesn't lock either the system or the games up.

For teh xbox 360, prices went down as you got closer to Christmas.
