$3200 PS3

lol awesome. I just told my bro, who has a PS3 on preorder, and he is running down to the game store to pre-order some games for selling on ebay along with the PS3. awesome.

I hope at these stores when they start passing out the consoles they have armed security guards patrolling and protecting the customers. Its getting to a point I can see it will be very tempting to kill or hold up a person at gun point to steal the console as the person is walking out of the store. And to be giving them out at night makes it even more tempting I would think as well.

wow, if you look at the winning buyers feedback, it looks like he bought the xbox360 when it came out as well

Yeah, I worked with a nerdy little guy that pre-ordered an Xbox 360 and got his ass kicked and it stolen from him as he left the store. The store gave him replacement, I was really shocked.

Do we know for sure that people will actually pay this and it isn't some 12 year old sniping?

You can usually tell the fakers by their bidding history. The winner of this PS3 has at least a somewhat meaningful if brief bidding history. Most fakers have zero.

I recently sold my Xbox 360 on Ebay and a buyer with a 9 feedback that looked good, tried to steal my account through a phishing link.
He sent me a question asking if my product was the same as in another auction. clicked the link and was asking me for my username and password and it was no an ebay page anymore.

I right away changed my password after that. I be worry about a winning bidder with only 6 feedback.

uhmmm, what happens if the person running the auction doesnt get a PS3? hahah....

I wonder how many bidders have not paid..

Target in Edgewater, NJ had security for the 360 launch (I was too far back in line <sigh>). The 360s were even locked in cages!

Crazy amount of money to spend on a PS3. I have to wonder though, how many of these launch PS3's will be DOA or die after a short time? It seems like any and all consoles have some problems early on, but given the reported production issues with PS3, I'd be even more worried. Yeah, you could send it into Sony to get it fixed or replaced, but I'd be surprised if you'd get it back before the end of the year. However, if you've got $3200, and this is how you want to spend it, don't let me stand in your way, it's your money.
