Depends on what kind of university you go to. If you go to one of the universities in college towns, then definetly you are going to feel very very old. But if you go to a university in a major metropolitan area, you will see lots of people around your age. During the evening classes, just about everyone is old.

I went to UNCW a college near the beach, and I had a woman in one of my business classes that had to be at LEAST 60. So 32 is nothing. It is NEVER to late, and that goes for anyone.

I'm 30 and a full time undergrad.
I have found that I respect my classes and education more than I did when I was 18.

Go for it, you can do it. If your worried about age you might want to choose a commuter school they tend to have older students. At my last school the average student age was 26-27, so your not too old.

Just don't be that bitter 30+ year old student who is ALWAYS asking questions in class. Either that, or complaining about the fees and the profs.

Heh, I had one of those guys in my classes (same guy for three classes). He would ask redundant questions every two minutes and bring the class to a screeching halt. Yeah, don't be that guy.

Yes, try to be nice to the younger people, who will HATE it if you're the 32 year old trying to show off how cool (read: annoying) you are :)

Have a guy in his mid-30s in my Org. Behavior class at Gatech. He's a cool guy with a different perspective than we have as students. Adds alot to our classes.

Yeah i see old geezers and the like all the time in my classes. Noone will even give u a second look since it's quite common. you'll blend right in and i've found older people are much more focused then the typical undergrad...

And don't be that 30+ student who's super enthusiastic version of the bitter 30+ student. It really annoys the younger students when the older students ask questions that are designed to show the prof. that are listening to the discussion and understand the discussion. A lot of times those un-need comments/questions are just a waste of time.

Too old? No way. :) I was in the Army from 18 yrs old till I was 21. Left the military and became an auto technician for 10 years with Nissan. 1987 was a real bad year for imports and 3 Nissan dealerships went under in my home town. So to keep food on the table and a roof over the fams head I went back in the Army for another 7 years. I had to go thru basic training and AIT all over again because my break from active service was so long. Man what a tough job that was for someone used to living comfortable and not taking care of myself well all those years. Just about beat me to death but I made it just fine. It sure seemed odd going thru all that with all those youngsters averaging about 18.

I was 32 years old. I was 35 when I went to Desert Storm. I was older than some of my top brass and highest ranking NCO's. You do what you gotta do in this life to carry on. :)

I look back now and WISH I were 32 again.. ;)
