The price for a flat 32" screen monitor is outrageous. Some popular wide screen 16:9 models do not support 720p.

A bit cheaper at avsforum.com under powerbuys, with the vision box it's $775.00

Also people must not understand that this truly is a 100% compatible HDTV, it supports both 720p and 1080i not something you are likely to find in many othe TV's.

technically to get 38" diagonally he would need 4 lcds... but meh whatever makes you feel big & happy.

i think cherry just need some lies to justify the fact that he spent 899 for two 19s, which by the way, has the same resolution as a dual 17 setup and could be have for 599.

I really don't get it why people are so thrilled about those dell 1901FP. they have a low resolution for a 19 which mean less sharp text/image and ghosting issue which is confirmed by many.

maybe cherry you can tell me what you do with a dual 1901FP setup that you couldn't do with a dual 17? NO, your 38" LCD setup doesn't count.

Agreed.

This would work great in a second monitor setup with a cheap PCI HDTV card. You get PVR recording and true 720p output! You can probably play CS on it too using one of the new widescreen resolutions. Pr0n would look nice on it too

THIS IS HOT HOT HOT!

Do some reading on this before ordering. Some people are having problems with the sets, and it's not like you can just take it back to a local store.

This is truely a pretty good deal for this screen. I'd like a flat screen but this probably has a great picture as a comprable TV that costs over $20000.

I'd like to report that I just got mine, and couldn't be happier with it. A really smart buy for the price, even with $150 shipment to Ohio it's still a deal. After all I'd heard about the vision box I wan't expecting much, but it seems to work like a charm on mine with anything I input... maybe I just lucked out and got a good one or a new version or something. I have an HTPC with a 9700pro, and let me tell you, 32" of pure Unreal 2003 is a glorious thing indeed.

Depends on your setup and viewing preferences. The X1 will definitely give you a more immersive experience "bigscreen" experience. There are people who simply prefer direct view tubes though. Also, the Monovision can compete with ambient light, while the picture a front projector like the X1 will be all washed out with excess light.

The refresh rates look like they would suck for gaming.
