I am in the market for a 32"+ LCD TV. I am hoping to spend under $1500, or ideally, close to $1000. I do want this to last a really long time, and I am interested in the difference between 1080 res and 720 res. I have seen a few LCD's with native 1900x1080 res and wonder if this makes a big difference? If the answer is yes, I am willing to wait and/or pay more maybe.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I paid $999 from JR last month...great TV

it's not 1080p, and the resolution is only 1366x768. The westinghouse I linked to does 1080p and is 1920x1080 resolution.

Yeah, but I'd still argue it's a better panel when you factor in Westy's support, and their panels only 1000:1 contrast ratio while the Syntax is 1600:1. IMO, 1080P support is not really a huge deal on a smaller LCD...

IMO, the Syntax is a better buy for $999 shipped.

Looks like they are no longer offering free shipping...still a better panel IMO.

Just check daily fatwallet and slickdealsDOTnet for LCD deals. There are many to be found. I recently got a 40" Viewsonic LCD for under $900 (new) with free shipping and no taxes. It is generally $1500-1600 elsewhere.

That Westinghouse does not have a built-in ATSC tuner. So forget that one.

It means you would have to buy a separate tuner to get over the air HDTV broadcasts. I guess it's a moot point if you have comcast or directv, but all of this years model HDTV's require a built-in OTA(over the ait) ATSC tuner.

I'm pretty happy with this Samsung.

I only regret it now because I want a bigger TV for the living room. I also paid too much for it too at CC, seeing how cheap it is on Newegg now...

It seems like many people think there will be some good deals soon, we've already seen a few but they're all dead as far as I know. Look at fatwallet hot deals and deal discussion forum.
