32" LCD HDTV for under $1,000

Just got back from the CostCo in Clackamas, Oregon which started the day with 15 Proview 32" TV's by 7:30 PM they only had 2 left.

I was told, there are another 6 in the backroom buried underneath other merchandise.

Well I'm glad I didn't buy this. The guy was nice enough to hook it up to HDTV TV and DVD, both looked "meh ok". Of course it may not have been perfectly calibrated, the lighting, the source, blah blah blah. Yes this is a killer deal but if I'm going to spend $899 I would expect better quality. It is a killer deal though and most stores will probably be sold out by Wednesday morning.

The TV itself (not including box and packing materials) can definitely fit in the backseat of a medium to large sedan. We have a 2002 Honda Accord SE sedan and I'm sure it would fit.

I wish they had a Spectre 30" for $799 on display but nope, I think that's only available online :-( The Maxtent 26" WS for $799 was BEAUTIFUL. If that were $649 or so, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Hope that helps a few of you. YMMV and these are just my personal unprofessional opinions 🙂

Thanks, Rossman. I'm going to do the same thing tomorrow - see how it looks.
I'm kind of on the fence right now. Deal on one hand, DVD picture quality on another... We almost don't watch TV at all - it's 9 times out of 10 a movie from Netflix, so DVD pic is important...

You're welcome, I know I'm far from an AV expert but I thought I'd share my personal reaction.

We watch TV more than DVD's and it would be nice to have DVI without having to use a converter.

So I'll just keep paying down bills and wait for another deal, perhaps Black Friday 2005 which we're already preparing for!

In the mean time I can order this and watch HD on my PC through my Dell UltraSharp 2005FPW

This TV is no longer available online. Guess, it's a hot deal.
I still haven't had time to go down to Coscto and check it out. Oh well 🙂 I guess, I'll miss out on this.

Yeah they were sold out day 1 or yesterday, these were flying off the shelves.

I'll just wait for a good deal on another LCD or DLP.

For your bathroom? Getting into the squinting realm IMO. I'd seriously look at a cheap DLP like the 46incher you had at gottadeal for $1200 a couple weeks back. because I hate LCD.. just does'nt move right and sheen on screen is unbearable.
