I was going to post these prices in Hot Deals but they are only lukewarm.

I purchased a Sceptre 32" X322BV-HD TV from Newegg for $220. shipped on BF. It seemed like a great deal at the time. This TV sucks big time. The picture is horrible, narrow viewing angle, sound is worse than a net book's, very shaky base, and you can only adjust the tint with an analog input, with any digital input the tint control is greyed out, WTF. Sceptre's tech support says this is normal for this TV. You get what you pay for.

Kudos for Newegg though. They will take it back, free back shipping, no restocking fee, no questions asked, up to 60 days after purchase date, for a full refund. Got my RMA and shipping label. So you will soon see a lot of these listed at NE as open box.

So in my search for another 32" 720p LCD TV here's what I found:
LG 32LD350
$329.99 FS from Newegg, tax in some states, 2% cash back from FW
$329.99 FS, tax in NY, from J&R, 5% cash back from ShopDiscover, 3% from FW
$329.00 FS, tax in some states, from Amazon

Toshiba 32C100U
$307.99 after code from Newegg, FS, tax in some states, use code TOSH32 to get $100. off, 2% cash back from FW

Vizio E320VA

$297.99, FS, tax in some states, from Amazon

I realize that a 32" 720p LCD TV is going to have a limited viewing angle. The only pro about the Sceptre TV is that it has a swivel base, so does the LG.

It's a toss up between the Toshiba and LG. Lower price for the Toshiba, but the LG gets slightly better reviews and has a swivel base.

Edit: Just checked ShopDiscover and Dell's cash back is 10%. I have a Discover card. With tax and 10% off the Vizio would be ~$286. shipped to WV. Reviews at Amazon though are not very good. Other opinions on this TV?

I'd go with the LG. They do tend to have better image quality among the gamut of LCDs. And this one actually does use an IPS panel so the viewing angle will be pretty good.

I went with the LG from J&R. With 5% ShopDiscover cash back it was $313.50 shipped, 3 day UPS.

Most online retailers, i.e., Newegg, ship TVs in the manufacturer's box with no packing between the box and screen. J&R adds additional packing.

Fmr12B,
Your link is for a Westinghouse. Westinghouse TVs are made by Chi Mei Optoelectronics. Sceptre TVs use Chi Mei panels. I'm not a Costco's member.

Nothing wrong with Chi Mei. You understand there is only a handful of panel companies right?

I'm aware of that. In fact I have a 22" LCD Chi Mei computer monitor with a TN panel. It's fine if I'm sitting directly in front of it, but it has a very narrow viewing angle. The Sceptre TV has the same problem. I'm assuming, don't know for sure, that it, and the Westinghouse, also have TN panels.

I got the LG 32LD350 today. Quick shipping, ordered it yesterday.
The picture, viewing angle, sound, menu options, and build are much better than the Sceptre X322BV-HD. The LG also has a Picture Wizard mode for calibrating contrast, brightness, color, tint, sharpness and backlight levels.

The LG has a S-IPS panel. It's not stated in the specs on their website but I just confirmed it with their tech support.

This one is not going back.
