Question 3080 Two Separate Power Connections Required?

Hi All

I currently have a 9700K with a Corsair HX850W at stock speed and was looking at upgrading my 1070 to a 3080 when it releases but noticed nvidia reccomends on the website two separate connections for the two 8 pin connectors for the card, my current case has the PSU locked in its own compartment with only a small hole for cables problem is only have one power connection set up with two 8 pin connectors on the same rail at the moment and cant get to PSU to plug in a 2nd unless I take apart half of the bottom section of the case apart, will it be an issue having both on the same rail and this is just a precaution or is it a requirement as Im not sure how to take the bottom section apart as I didnt assemble the system. Thanks in advance for any advice here.

You should be fine. Corsair provided a modular cable with 2 8 pin PCIe plugs with the PSU. I think it would be safe to think that the cable and PSU can deliver 300W or more.
