And since we are on this subject, can someone please send the link on how to properly install a gpu driver... the one that involves more than checking the "clean install" tick box in the Nvidia installer. I think there was also a driver sweeper in there and selectively installing features.

Thanks!

I notice its now released on the official Nvidia website for 64 bit also. I'll install tonight to see how it goes.

Let me know if you spot any bugs as I usually give it a month before I update my drivers.

Hope they fixed:
- the psod of 296.10 for the gtx 560
- the v-sync stutter problem
- the 3D problem (not so familiar with this one since I don't include the 3d option)

they already said the vsync stutter problem would not be fixed on this driver but probably the one after it.

No Diablo fixes?

Were you having issues? My system has run flawlessly with both this new updated driver and old driver. I didn't even realize SLi was turned off until 2 hours of playing and was checking on my GPU tempts. I'd say that pretty consistent game play.

I am interested though to hear about the issues you have experienced in the last week.

Woah, what's this v-sync stutter issue?

The GF was playing Tera last night and she wanted to show me something, the first thing I saw was tearing even though she had Adaptive V-sync (which I thought was odd.)

Unless in my fatigue I mistook stuttering for tearing. Anyways, what's this stuttering issue?

shouldn't blizzard fix diablo?

What's wrong with Diablo 3?

Outside of that, I hope NV and AMD get proper AA working in Diablo 3. That FXAA garbage is just that - garbage.

Yeah-yeah, injectors, NV Inspector, GL trying to get the GF to use it when she fears it would get her banned.

Played Microsoft Flight ( hardly a taxing game) for over an hour with the new drivers with no problem.

I have an annoying inconsistent stutter in Diablo 3 on both my 6970 system and my 560 Ti system. Despite the fact that both machines are more than adequate for the hardware demands of the game, I get little blips every 3- 10 seconds as I walk around the towns and dungeons. From what I've read, this is probably related to loading sounds and textures or communicating with the Blizzard servers, not necessarily a GPU problem. But it's really annoying in any case.

D3 issues is not GFX/Localized/Drivers. Its Blizzards problem both with laggy servers and just poor sloppy coding. Really sad.

I get intermittent screen flashes in D3 with these drivers. Went back to 301.40 and it went away. These drivers also caused my voltages to drop lower when gaming for some reason, resulting in artifacts. Weird.

nvidia and AMD having awful drivers is far beyond blizzard's control.

You have a 15% memory overclock (in addition to memory being pushed to its rated limits at stock) so that probably can't be helping things.:)

With Adaptive V-Sync on, it causes stuttering and Nvidia have acknowledged this flaw = recommends to turn it off until they fix it in a future firmware update...

It's definitely not your computer, D3 is an online title so you have to expect some form of lag. I get rubber banding in D3 all the time.

I tried this and it took care of the majority of the stuttering I was noticing.

Thanks for the link. I'll have to give that a try. I've already attempted a bunch of the other solutions suggested in the bnet forums--setting core affinities and so on. The one thing I found to help was running in Windowed mode instead of Fullscreen. Some of the other fixes seemed like they might be working for a minute, but this proved to be confirmation bias in the end.

why are games on nvidia cards so dark? The dark parts of the game are black...it's like the color range is shifted down or gamma is too low or something-- turning up monitor brightness isn't the problem, the color simply isn't there it's just "black"?

Your phrasing is confused as hell. But I think you might be referring to the fact that nvidia defaults to not modifying the game color saturation and AMD boosts it by default. you can turn off the boost on AMD or turn it on in nVidia

Is CUDA still available even if the monitor is off with these? I had to roll back a ways to get CUDA working like it should. Seems like that would be a priority feature for nvidia. I should be able to lock and go and it will still keep working...

Had to use 285.62, to be exact.
