300Watt Power Supply Enough?

I am just putting together the upgades in the kids computer. Their's was an old celeron 400 with 256 megs of ram and onboard video. Yeah it sucked--they couldn't even play the sims.

Anyway, I got all the new stuff for it and started putting it together tonite. AMD AthlonXP2000+, geforce fx5200 128mb video card, Soltek 75FRN2-L M/B, 256 mb ddr, 40 gig HD. I now need a new power supply since the old one doesn't have the 4 pin 12 connector.

I don't think I need something crazy expensive for it. Will a good 300 or 350 watt PS do it?
Thanks

Bob

Don't get the Hi-Q/Power-Q models though; get the Fortron/Sparkle model with "FSP" in the model number. The FSP300-60PN and FSP350-60PN are pretty nice 120 mm fan models. They move plenty of air, and are pleasantly quiet when CPU utilization is low.

I now running a AXP @ 1.8GHz, 1GB RAM and a 9800 Pro with a HEC 300W. I'm sure a quality 300W PSU will be more than enough for your system.

You are running a very low power system. I would not recommend it due to voltage fluctations and spikes but even a Generic 300Watt PSU should have no problem with that system.
