Is a high quality 300W PS enough to power a 72W peltier and a system? If not, how do I wire a second PS to turn on for the peltier? And how many W's do I need for the peltier PS? 200W fine?
Thanks.

It depends what kind of hardware you're running. GeForce original and AMD processors are power hogs. It's easy to wire a second PS to your peltier. The problem would be where to put the second PS.

You don't necessarily need a 2nd PS for your Peltier but it might be cheaper than buying one HD PS for the whole system .

Check out:

or

Swiftech used to recommend a PS with minimum 12 amps @ 12 volts for their Peltier systems, I believe. They sell a 300 watter like that and even a 400 watter with 14 amps @ 12 volts.

You might track down such PS's by starting at AMD's Athlon approved PS's listing at their website and then looking up the PS specs at the vendors.

As suggested by SykoFreak, an Athlon plus a Peltier requires a very good PS, maybe more than 12 @ 12.

I'll be running a 650E or a 700E at as close to a Gig or over as possible. P3V4X-- and lots of fans. Still think I need another PS?
