300W or Above Power Supply - Recommendation?

I need a new 300W power supply for an Intel D815EEA motherboard. I believe it is an ATX board. Noise reduction is my number-one priority, so I want a power supply that runs really quite. I also want a power supply that doesn't build up too much heat.

Please recommend. Thanks.

Another thing: my budget for the power supply is $50, including shipping.

Also, please let me know if the power supply you recommend has any neat features, extra fans, power management, etc.

Thanks.

antec if your on the budget, you can get them for about that at compusa or cheaper on the web.

I bought a fortron source and have been using that for the past two years, works really well, and is probabily cheaper than the 80 bucks I paid for it then

edit: if noise reduction is your primary concern then I would whole heartedly recommend the antec ps unit, it has a fan that regulates itself depending how hot the unit is, so it will be much quiter when the unit is cool, and it is relatively inexpensive too, and also works well with amd setups if your ever considering an upgrade

I like the enermax power supply with the dual fans. They don't go in normal watt steps like most but they are quality supplies

If you could pay $14 more then buy the Whisper Enermax 330w. It is $64 shipped in here. It is the best component that I have ever bought, very beautiful.

I would def recommend SPARKLE, ENERNMAX, ANTEC, SEVENTEAM and a handful of others.

I am actaully selling Sparkle 300watt PSUs for 52 shipped and i know ur budget is 50.

Email me or PM me and maybe can work something out.

I have references on heatware under frank828

actually the sparkle has the potential of being extrememly quiet.

Try puttin a Panaflo or other quiet fans in the PSU, that is basically what PCP&C does with their Silencer 275(rebadged and refanned 300watt Sparkle)

frank

But that require's modifying the Sparkle, when it is much easier just to get an Enermax and get a quiet p.s.

Not to mention the Enermax will do much more for case coolign than the Sparkle Will(especially a quiet fan equipped sparkle).

I just upgraded from my sparkle 235watt to a enermax 330watt whisper from Phamcomputers which I highly recommend this computer. They were fast to ship. As for the new power supply. I was almost able to get my duron 600 up to 950mhz. With the sparkle I could not even post at 950. I still have to settle with 900 but I found it amazing that just the power supply almost got me 50 mhz higher on my cpu.

I am using a non-Whisper 330W and i still find it quiter than my Antec Pp303x.

And since most computer's don't go to suspend, the whisper won't do anything for that computer.

Ditto to Bozack's reply.
The fan speed on my Antec is never very high due to a couple of 80mm Panaflo's that help with cooling and are also super quiet. Cost me $40. for both the Antec 300W and Panaflos.

the loudest thing i have in my computer at night is my Gorb. everything else is super quiet thanks to the baybus and quiet fans i have.
