300GB Seagate SATA Not Reading

Ok first off system specs...

500watt Antec PS
Abit Kv8 pro
AMD 3400+
1.5GB 3200DDR
6800GT EVGA
120GB IDE seagate
80GB seagate SATA
300GB Seagate SATA

Ok here is my problem, whenever I try installing my new 300GB HD I got for x-mas it does not recognize even after the seagate discwizard installation. I hooked up everything correctly and it just does not recognize the 300GB. My machine has 2 onboard sata controllers, (SATA 1, and SATA 2). My system has no problems recognizing the 80GB SATA no matter what controller I plug it into, I have switched SATA cables as well as flash to the lastest BIOS and updated my chipset on my motherboard, I even changed power plugs. I have tried all that I can think of at the moment 🙁, and I need some help with this.

Whenever both SATA's are plugged in at once, there is noticeable lag in the windows loading process. I have tried unplugging my other SATA and running the discwizard and nothing is detected. I looked in my BIOS and everything appears to be set up correctly.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Here's a thread that you might find useful.

It seems that your motherboard does not support SATA II and so your drive needs to fall back to SATA I. You may need to force the Seagate back to SATA I by jumpering (if the drive supports it).
