Since we're talking about pata and sata

what are the noticeable differences (if any) between a 7200rpm sata versus a 7200rpm pata?

sorry to hijack =)

interface..not much else. Sata has proven to be faster in some tests, but it is nothing revolutionary....yet

ok i thought so...good thing i just plunked down money for a 300gb pata then...

sure having thin wires transferring data serially is better than those pata cables...but i'm not willing to pay extra for that. yet.

just get rounded cables. Unless you are obsessive or have a small HTPC it shouldn't be a problem.

Hell, I have a small Shuttle XPc and the ventilation is great
