... so you want to upload your essays for people to plagiarize and for them not to get caught.

Why would anyone possibly want that? I could see uploading your essays for informative purposes, but to encourage plagiarism kind of defeats the purpose.

When you were in high school, weren't all your essays hand written, or at the most printed on a typewriter?

;)

If I gave you an FTP to upload them, would you?

I'm only 23, so no. I think I'll just upload them to http://www.essaydepot.com/. Thanks though.

EDIT: I take it back, that place is super sketchy.

My understanding is he wants to upload the essays so others can read and get information from for their papers or use his references etc. Not so others can just print and hand in his hard works. I think he just wants to help inform others and was saddened by how easy it is to have others steal his work as their own. Least I "hope" thats the reason ;)

I thought that was obvious -- so people can use my essays and/or the information in my essays.

Information? I doubt any of your essays have groundbreaking arguments or conclusions. Let kids do their own work.

Not really. If you take something "free" and slap your name on it, that's plagiarism. It doesn't matter that you adhered to the GPL or whatever, it matters that you tried to pass it off as your own work.

actually, it would be very nice for them to be easily caught. encouraging cheating + the further dumbing-down and incompetence of our culture is extremely irresponsible and worthless.

fuck you.

that is all well and good; but it seems that the majority of the younger generation really doesn't understand the difference between reference and plagiarism these days.

largely b/c of laziness, websites like this, and lack of responsibility.

You seem to expect this response so... You are the scum of the earth. Stop watering down our educational system; some of us work damn hard to get the grades we did and having you help others plagiarize waters down the efforts and rewards for those people who actually do the work.

Better call the waaaambulance. They got As and maybe one or two Bs. I admit though, I'm surprised by how simplistic some of them are. Also, I don't have a comprehensive collection of papers, just a large handful.

The two sentences above must be read together. The second sentence referencing a site with a Flash display that prevented search engine indexing strongly suggests that the OP would prefer such an arrangement. This arrangement can only be interpreted as a means of preventing plagiarism. In light of this, it seems readily apparent that the OP's use of the term, "caught plagiarizing" is synonymous with, "found plagiarizing" and that the oddity in phraseology is the result of a colloquialism rather than a desire to promote the plagiarism of his own works.

Were the OP truly seeking to make his essays easily plagiarizable, he would never have included the second sentence referencing the Flash-based anti-plagiarism tool and the only logical conclusion can be that the OP's desire, though inartfully expressed, is to prevent, not promote, the plagiarism of his works. For this reason I must respectfully dissent from the majority opinion of this court.
