3007 WFP-HC vs. 3007 WFP

I just ordered a refurb. 3007 WFP on Amazon, for $925 shipped, and I noticed that the HC version is reputed to have much better contrast and color accuracy.

Am I going to be disappointed with my purchase? Is the HC a fix to problems or just an elitist piece of hardware?

I just lost a chance to buy a new HP LP3065 for $1,000 on eBay. I want to kill myself for going out to eat. :(

I would get the WFP over WFP-HC with $400 difference. You can read about the difference from AT reviews. Not worth that kind of price difference, IMO.

I'd go for the HC - there's no sense on skimping if you're already buying a high-end product anyway.

Well.. Not to take this thread off-topic, but that's sorta what I'm debating (Dell vs HP) and I can't decide whether the 3 DVI ports are really worth $400 premium. I can easily find various deals for Dell 3007FWP/FWP-HC, but as far as HP LP3065 goes, the only deal is $100 mail-in-rebate from HP, or used ones from eBay. I don't know what Dell was thinking, when making such a high-end monitor with only one input?

Eh, i'd like to agree, but i don't.

The regular 3007WFP is still better than 99.97% of consumer LCDs out there, so if you need to save the $400 for a new video card or something else, believe me when i say you won't be disappointed with the 3007WFP non HC version still.

I'll put it this way.

There are basically only two better LCDs out there.
The HC version & the HP LP3065.

So i wouldn't get too disappointed ;)

The HC has visibly better IQ. Since I suspect he'll be keeping the LCD for many years I'd rather pay a bit extra for piece of mind. Otherwise you'll always be doubting your purchase.
