I was disappointed with choosing my MB as well. I started with an Epox 9NJA3 which is a NF3 based MB, but was having a lot of trouble with the system so the shop where I purchased it wanted me to swap and the Abit AV8 was all they had in stock. I didnt realize it was VIA based until I got back to work and did some research on it, but the reviews didnt seem too bad so I decided to give it a try. I was able to reach 300mhz HTT with no problem, I even ran a 8.5 multiplier as well and didnt have any trouble. My main problem was that the board doesnt have a working AGP lock over 260-265mhz HTT so I was forced to use an 8:2:1 divider which kept the AGP bus at 70mhz and my AIW 9800 PRO didnt like it. I ended up switching to a +3200 so I could use a 10x mutliplier but in the end I lost 100mhz out of the o/c since it couldnt reach the speed my +3000 could. I should have been more then happy with 2.5Ghz but since I knew I did better with the +3000 it bothered me. So yea, o/cing is certainly an addiction.
