3000+ Venice 0519CPFW

Hi, I just ordered a Week 19 Venice (0519CPFW) and I'm wondering what kind of OC I can expect from it since it won't be here for another week or so. I'm hoping I can get 2.7 Ghz out of it without more than 1.55v. I'll be using an XP-90C w/ 120mm Delta. Is that too much to hope for?

I'm also asking because if it can go above 2.7 Ghz I'm tempted to rip the Waterchill from my Newcastle rig and stick it on my Venice . . .

Hmm . . . all I need is 2.7 Ghz @ <1.6v . . . crosses fingers lol . . . I saw a 0519CPFW @ 2760 1.67v at Hardforums under water so I thought 2.7 may be achievable on air . . .

Hahaha, better cross your toes too......well, I guess that it'll all come down to how lucky you are.......Some venices don't scale that well with extra voltage...........2.7Ghz is quite a bit for a week 19 if you ask me :S

Well I can always Waterchill it if need be, though that's something I'd rather not do since my Newcastle is so damn hot . . .

Like I said , the CPU might not scale well with higher voltages :S Even with uber cooling and like 1.7V, it won't necessarily guarantee a higher OC 🙁 I honestly hope you got a good week 19 though. I've got a friend who got a venice that OC'ed very poorly. 🙁 Can't exactly say that he was happy with the results. Btw, regaurdless of the cooling, I would recommend caution when upping the voltage towards 1.6V.......

Well got it yesterday and I so far it's doing 2.6 Ghz @ 1.54v. Tried 2.7GHz @ 1.58v and failed Prime95 quickly. Then I tried 2.7 @ 1.6v and not stable either. Load temps about 38C @ 1.6v . . . I don't think it's a heat issue, I hope I can get more out of it, right now it's sitting @ 2.66 Ghz 1.59v. I'm not sure I wanna pump more vcore through it. Any suggestions? (Note, I was able to play Splinter Cell Chaos Theory for an hour or so @ 2.7GHz, but it's not Prime95 stable)

Damn, you better throw that chip away and order a new one, you only got 2.66ghz out of it and not 2.7 on air cooling, LOL!!!!

P.S.- Nice OC 🙂

Yeah well some 0517 can get 2.7Ghz on stock vcore lol . . . but yeah I guess for Week 19, this is pretty good . . . 😉 Gonna try 1.64v when I get home lol . . .

HT was set to 3x
RAM is 1:1
NF4 voltage: 1.8v
RAM voltage: 2.85v

Though Prime fails, I'm actually running stable in games and in my other programs (vid encoding, photoshop, etc.) so I'm probably gonna stay at 1.61v and not gonna try 1.64v like I said I would. If my comp suddenly BSODs when playing COD2 then maybe I'll consider 1.64v. 😉
