My new system definitely needs to last throughout the remainder of grad school (two-three years, knock on wood). I would like to tweak its performance a bit - get that data crunched a bit quicker. :)

I know it's next to impossible to outright fry components unless you're doing something completely idiotic - but OCing can reduce a component's lifespan. So, what I'm basically asking is how far would you reasonably push a system like mine if you were concerned about longevity? My system's components are in my sig. At stock speeds with a Zalman fan and some case modding, the cpu runs at 32C & the mobo at 27C (idle - under extended load I've never seen it hotter than 40C).
