Hey guys,

Let me say first that i'm fairly new to the overclocking scene so please go easy on me ;)

I've had my new rig for almost 3 weeks now and i've been trying to oc my cpu for the past week or so but it would never go past 2ghz....EVER. I've played around with various settings but to no avail. I've tried adding more voltage, dropped multi to 8, messed with dividers but nothing seems to work. Do you guys know what could possibly be wrong?

specs of rig:
3000+ venice
dfi lanparty ultra-d
1gb ocz platinum rev2

Current settings are just 223x9 @ 1.4v, everything's left untouched.

I've tried 250x9, ht link: 4x ,for voltage i've tried up to 1.5v, dividers 5:6, 1:1 (only dividers i've tested). Also tried 260x9 with ht link:3x and of course that didn't work and then finally i decided to drop the cpu mulitplier down to 8 and htt/fsb to 250 but same result.

with 250 HTT you need to drop HT multi (link) to 3x. also, tell us what memory and motherboard you're using

Tried that and it still won't boot to windows. My specs are up top on the very first post.

turn off CPU Spread Spectrum. this will lock PCI bus.

likewise, usually just setting FSB to 201 will lock bus on most boards
