what do you guys reccommend?

requirements:
- 15" screen
- dvd burner
- mobile/ light weight
- >60GB storage
- STYLISH

not for me, for a friend. has a realtively big budget, so go wild. he won't go powerbook, but basically thhat sort of quality wanted.

suggestions?

get that asus W1

first notebook I think of when I saw that he wanted a "powerbook-like" quality and "stylish" notebook.

or you can go for a hypersonic-pc CX5

nice paintjobs on them or you can choose no paintjob and save a little $$$

Why does it have to be "stylish?"
IBM series laptops are the best, but they are not made for people who want their laptop to look fancy. With IBM, you pay for quality, service, and performance, not for some paintjob.

Getting a big hard drive and DVD burner might be kinda hard to have and keep the notebook lightweight. Try searching newegg. Also, maybe he could have an external DVD burner, because you won't need to be burning DVDs all the time.

Hp nx5000 perhaps

Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with the eMachines M6805/6809. Upgrade the RAM to 1GB and put in a faster hard drive and you're still under 2 grand.

Oh, wait. You wanted light weight. Eh, I don't think 7.5 pounds is that bad, but maybe that's just me.
