~$300 watercooling solution, any suggestions?

I'd like to install water for my e6600 / x1900 xtx in a p180 / P5W DH Deluxe but I don't know jack about water. I've looked at the guides and some of the threads, I understand the components but I have no idea where to go for the best price. Also there doesn't seem to be much consensus as to who makes the best kits. Any input? (I'd probably go for a kit as I've never done water before) How cool will a decent water setup keep an overclocked e6600?

Kits used to suck (most still do) but there are people who give a damn working on the problem... this looks to me like a well thought out starter kit and right in your price range.

How does that fit in the case, do the two fans go inside it, or do they hang out the back... I'm sure that is a silly question but I'm not familiar with these things.

Not a silly question at all. It can go either way. The kit contains the "RadBox" for mounting outside if you choose but it's not a hard set rule. If your case isn't very big, then outside will be easier to manage. Study the dimensions of the parts before you buy and take measurements to see how they fit and interact with your PC parts. Spend some time at ocforums or Xtremesystems and look through the pics of WC rigs for ideas on how to place parts.

i was just going to link that kit.

Get the petratech elite. Its hands down the best kit package you can get at that price.

Since u dont have a dual die quadcore the Dtek fuzion will pwn the GT in single die dual core processors. So that kit is most likely your best solution

Link again

the above system can handle a quad core. However the ApogeeGT was showen to be better then D-tek fusion on cooling dual die quad core cpus.

Dtek has a nozzle accelerator thats coming out soon. You might want to wait and see on those. That might push it higher then the apogee GT.

But in otherwords, if u get a apogee GT and use a Oring modification, it will cool a quad core better.

I thought Fuzion did better on quad cores....seems at XS seems who you ask...though the Apogee GT with the larger Oring sure gives the Fuzion a run for its money..either will do excellent on dual core or quad core and you will not see any significant performance difference

I still run the "old gold std" Storm rev2(yea I know G5 is best) on my C2D and it works perfectly

You have to realize the differences are important ot extreme overclockers looking for every 1C temp drop....but often these guys are using 2 pumps in series a triple PA120.3 etc....

aigomoria recommendation is an excellent one and you will not regret working with Petra..excellent store, products and awesome CS!!!!!
