I know it was posted before but most of the trailers have been taken off the net. Anyone know where there still is one?

looks like an interesting movie. I like the cinematography.

Really? I don't like how some of it looks. They shot so much of it against a green screen that it looks like a movie almost entirely shot against a green screen. None of it looks remotely real.

that's the one film I cannot wait to see... adapted from a Frank Miller graphic novel, very stylized ala sin city...

I think it looks really good, doubt I'll be able to convince the woman to see it though considering how much she hated Sin City.

THE HISTORICAL INACCURICIES ARE HURTING MY SOUL.

Since WHEN did spartans fight mostly nude? For FVCK's sake!

If you wanna see a GOOD movie based on this battle, go rent "300 Spartans". It looks much better than this piece of crap.

heh i them fighting nude makes for a better movie! well if they are female. heh

edit: doh forgot the real reason to quote you. 300 spartans was on TV last night. good movie.

Actually, Spartans didn't wear all that much armor, they didn't need it probably. Sparta was an elite war nation, the only reason they didn't rule the whole of Europe was that they lacked good government, and were too small. They pretty much beasted anyone who fought them though.

usually they had a shield and basic breastplate. they did nto fight in a (well looks like) a toga or just a plane wrap.

it's based on the graphic novel, not history. the director and FM have acknowledged that. as far as it being "crap", from the reviews of test audiences this movie is going to be great.

Well hey, looks like they had some fancy golden cups... Good for something. Who cares if it isn't historical, it is based on a Frank Miller novel......

...

The...whole...of...europe? I really, really, REALLY hope you're not being serious.

Sparta was but one of many Greek city-states during the Hellenestic period. Sure, the spartan warriors were tough, but there were only a maximum of perhaps 3-4000 troops at any given time.

And for armor? They wore leather kilts, leather breastplates, and had large wooden/bronze shields.

Wow, I'm a little surprised to see such pleasant comments on it.

Not to be mean, but I think it looks very poorly done. Didn't Frank Miller actually distance himself from this project?
