Save yourself 300, don't buy a XBOX, my gift to you.
XBOX, played it for a hour. It suxs if you ask me. Its not bad, the light effect is cool. The controller was better than i thought it would be. But the down fall of this thing isn't so much the machine as the TV screen. At the resolution of the tv screen though, it looks like digested bok choy. Looks like im going to go on vaction somewhere with my money instead(not near NY, maybe Vegas). After i played Halo and then went and played Cliver Underlying on my computer at 1280 1048, its like night and day. Maybe ill get Halo when it comes out on PC.

-old saying-
I need this like a mouse needs a hat rack

I'm not a big fan of 1970's cadillacs, they're too big to drive and they get really crappy gas milage. If I was a pimp, then maybe, but all I'll look like is kid rock cruising around in one.

Compared to my VW it's like night and day!

Last time I checked you dont sit nearly as close to the tv then you do on your computer :p

Besides that, PS2 games didnt look 1/2 as good when they first came out compared to the onea they have now.

better hot deal, save the 1500$ you would spend on a fast geforce3 pc and apply it toward a HDTV - plug your xbox into it and you have beautiful hi res graphics, dolby digital surround for games, and you can watch dvds on it , in your living room with friends and family around!

Even better hot deal...wait until you can get a computer 10 times faster than the one you currently own before upgrading. More harddrive space is okay because files keep getting bigger for some reason, and new graphics cards are pimp for nice games, but most likely (myself included), your old PC will work great for all applications. I haven't had any problems running any applications yet and I'm still on a K6-2 400.

Gamecube sux. I hear that you have to plug it into an outlet, and the power company charges you to use it. What a rip off.

HOW is this a hot deal, normally i'm nice and cool and all but does anyone read the rules around here? (and to post my opinion about the xbox---if you've been playing stupid consoles all your life then the XBOX looks great, those of us with BAD #@ pc's know better don't we?)

You'd be hard pressed to find a decent HDTV (if at all) for $1500, to say nothing of the actual X-Box, games, peripherals and audio hardware for Dolby Digital... comparisons between consoles/HT setups and PCs just don't work - I don't know why people keep trying to argue for one over the other. I mean, hell, get both and live happily. :)
