Hi,

I am having a trouble in XP which I have had before in other OS's, which is bootup will be very fast and get to the desktop no problem. At this point everything is accessible except network related things, such as connecting to the net and network properties etc.

The computer works and about 30 seconds later these functions are available....

As I said Ive had this problem before in another OS but cant remember for the life of me how I solved it. Does anyone have any pointers on what to look at? I saw someone else had a problem that was caused by mapped network drives, but this is not the problem in my case.

Thanks for any help,
Joshua

Are you using a DHCP server? If you are on a home network I doubt it.

If not, ensure you have assigned an IP address in your TCP/IP network settings.
