But doesn't that only apply to TVs because you have to worry about the 'screen door effect' which wouldn't be an issue with a PC monitor with such a high DPI opposed to TVs with low DPI?

I just meant you should move it back to reduce your viewing angle, not that you need to conform to THX specs or anything for resolving details on the 1600p display. Thought I'd link to that just so the OP could get an idea of how far away to put the 30" to give the same viewing angle as the 24"
