Sweden also has 100mbit connections. Cheap.
<sigh>

nah... but we have 10 mbit both up and down really cheap.

Yeah? I'm sure someone was talking about 100mbit fibre connections or something... I dunno 🙂

Well... of course some lucky individuals have it but it´s far from common, and probably expensive.

I have snigle-mode fiber coming up noto my lawn where it changes over to copper in the form of CAT5e. Unfortunately, because Marconi has not developed a product in card-form to replace the 2-meg card currently in that lawn torpedo, I cannot benefit from greater bandwidths even though the SMF is sitting there, and its tied into a Gigabit Ethernet switch.

Sometimes technology can produce some unexpected obstacles.

Surely you just need a switch with a suitable 100mbps fibre module?

That would be me 🙂

~$60/month for 100 Mbit FD.
Work pays $30 of that, so I'm pretty much getting it for the price of 10 Mbit. 😀

Where do you live exactly? Can everyone that lives there get it?

Sollentuna, all of the apartments where I live can chose between 10 or 100 Mbit, it gets pretty expensive if you live in a house, since you'll have to connect to the fiber backbone, which means paying for your own cable, upwards of $1200, after that it's generally ~$25 for 100 Mbit, so you'll save some money in the long run.

Nice, didn´t know that, I´ve got 10mbit up/down and that is pretty fast, isnt it overkill with 100 up/down in a normal neighbourhood?

Well, I can get 500-1000 KB/Sec from pretty much anyone within BBB's net, and from other fast sources as well, so say I'm on DC and wanna download something big, just get a bunch of fast sources and you'll pull a whole DVD iso in ~15-20 minutes 🙂

My ex-boss has an OC-3 connection in his apartment.

He's trying to find out how to take advantage of it. A pR0n server perhaps? Too bad he's computer illiterate.
