Best Buy B&M has dropped the price on this drive to match Circuit City. This is the price without any MIR. Circuit City was with a $30 MIR. Best Buy is the better deal.
Price match at OD and then take another $15 off with the coupon and you're down to $94.97 plus tax

Another warm deal from Mac...

this is an old deal. But an even better price match is with CC. Pricematch with BB for 109.97 then take the $30 mir. 80+tax for 30 gigs HD. It was a bit tricky to get CC to pm. After the comp guy wouldnt due it I took it up front and said they sent me up there to have them call BB :) Worked like a charm.

How do you get anyone to PM without an ad?

Why not PM at Staples and use a $30 off $100 coupon?

Anybody gotten this to work with Staples yet? I think I'll take back the 20gb/5400 if it means a 30gb/7200 for $10 more ;)

This is not an old deal. BB just lowered yesterday.
This is a diamondmax plus
I pricematched it with OD. Pricematching CC isn't so easy. They seem to think rebates count since they are CC rebates.

Check the fine print on the CC Pricematch. They only pricematch an "advertised" price. The manager stuck me with that at the Florence Ky. store so be ready to fight for the pricecheck if they look closely. I didn't get it the first time around but I will try a different store this time.

I love staples! I called Best Buy first to confirm the price and they said it's been at $109 since last weekend (may go back up on sunday). next call was to Staples (1-800-3STAPLE). I told the CSR to call Best Buy to get the price. it was 9PM already (Best Buy closing time)! ACK! luckily the CSR got through and verified the price. so, I got the price match, $30 off $100 coupon code from techbargains.com, and free shipping for orders over $50! what a great way to start the weekend! maybe I'll order another one tomorrow to use in raid 0 striping mode on my Abit KT7-100 RAID mobo... :D

now, if I can get my hands on a $30 MIR... muahahahaha :D

lol. I can just imagine that best buy being bombarded by 1000's of calls from staples CSRs asking about the price of this hardrive if Dave posted their number.

Yes I would have to agree that it would be funny. The problem is where I live we do not have any best buys. So i went to the store locator on there web site and found the nearest location and will call in the morning. The question is are all of the best buys doing this or is it just specific to certain region. Thanks

The guys at Best Buy made a copy of the shelf price sticker for me and I took it to OD. Not much OD could say then.
Another reason to PM at OD is they have the PCI ATA100 card for $50. Free (not the tax) after $50 rebate from Maxtor but you have to buy both the drive and the card at the same time and Best Buy does't offer the card.

you have to buy both the drive and the card at the same time

No, you don't. You can buy them seperately as long as it's within the rebate period. It's in theeir FAQ.

Staples pricematch

Staples.com item number 428385

Pricematch to BestBuy (you can have CSR call 402-399-9601 if your store is out. They have 20+ in stock)

Price = $109.95
Coupon ($30 off $100) (Not sure if linking to just a site is legal, let me know and I will edit)
Taxes + $5.24 (yuck)
Total = $85.19
