30-60FPS in DoD:S with 7800GT.

With max settings 1152x864 AA and AF all the way up. I only get 30-64FPS. The game does not play smooth at all its very jerky. Sometimes the FPS drops to 20s. And when I through a grenade it pauses in the air for a split second and jitters around. I am using 78.05 drivers.

your ram is most likely the problem. besides, this is a new game and it won't run perfectly on a 7800gt.

Itll run perfectly on a 7800, but your RAM is a problem big time.

what do you mean? that the 7800GT can't handle it well enough or the game has not been tweaked enough?

My friend with a A64 3200+ 939 with 1GB PC2700 CL2.5 DDR333 and a Geforce4Ti4200 128Mb runs the game without glitch's and really smooth

I have a A64 3200+ 754 with 1GB PC3200 CL2.5 DDR400 with a Geforce 6800 Ultra and i get allot of glitch's

This NEW DOD requires super fast memory and at least 1Gb's It doesnt matter what videocard you have.

As my friends Dual Channel 1Gb of 333Mhz (666Mhz) proves to run the game better then my Single chanel DDR400 (400Mhz)

Herm, running dual channel mem or single shouldnt be that great of a difference. The differences you might be experiencing are different settings in game possibly. Maybe video card settings, drivers...
Keep in mind, theres many ways to improve fps in games. I always lower the textures and particles to lowest as possible in normal dod so I can pull 150fps. Theres lots of ways to improve or smooth fps. Not mention video card settings, like AA, AF, different resolutions people play at etc.. Video card drivers and settings for the drivers...etc etc. Id bet since he has a worse video card than you, he has taken out alot of quality settings, or at least enough to smooth it out. Also, the drivers for his video card have been out for much longer as well. Anyways, something to think about.

I'd think only having 512 would be a much bigger issue than the speed of the RAM. 1GB Corsair Value is only $90. Overclocked memory does speed things up, but not by much. Dual channel DDR550 is probably not even 5% faster than Dual Channel DDR400 in anything but sandra.

Thats not a true statement for 1280x800 with everything turned on.

I am not sure thats completely the case I know I have V-sync on so my max of 80FPS sounds right, but I do get into the low 30s at 1200x1024 and I am running a 4400+ 2GB of ram and 7800GTX. DoD:S only seems to take up just around 300MB so at least another 512MB would be a good Idea but at the settings he using. Infact after rereading his senario I would have to say 1GB should eliminate the horrible stuttering (as more then 1GB seems to take care of BF2s stuttering issues in high traffic areas). But Still a Min of around Thirty (which is rare but happens) and an average of around 60 seems to be right on par with my machine at a slightly higher res. I need to go back through my Fraps log to see what the actuall lows were though.
