3 years left to live

Suppose you had 3 years left to live. Through all 3 years you will be healthy. You're not dying because of a disease or anything like that. But at the end of the third year you know you will die.

What would you do?

I would go build a shack up in the woods and live as one with nature... Then on the last day, I would climb atop the mountain and perish.

Interesting. You would do that and stay in the woods for 3 years?

Move to a sub-tropical beach.

Wait why don't I do this now......

find a job I just plain enjoy, buy a dodge viper and enjoy the last 3 years living like I did when I was 17 (I miss being a kid)

I would become Unbreakable and Fearless, since I knew I wouldn't die for three years. I could jump of tall buildings. Play chicken with trains and lose - but win. Get people to bet money against me to play Russian Roulette, and watch their reaction as I take their money. I'd charge Bio-tech firms millions of dollars for samples of my "immortal" blood (I'm assuming they don't know about the three year thing. I'd become a hero and a villain. I'd take out huge-a$$ loans and live the rest of my life doing whatever I wanted.

In reality, probably marry the GF, have a kid or two, and enjoy life while it lasts.

You said having a kid or two. What are your thoughts about them growing up without you?

start taking out people i don't like... one at a time

But what if you get caught and spend your last days in jail?

My live wouldn't get much worse. But I'd probably take out more than one at a time, cause 3 years are too short otherwise.

Darn. There goes a 4 year degree program.

double up your classes, take summer courses etc etc. you might be able to pull it off if you work really hard at it!

Reminds me of one of my fiancee's coworkers. He jokes about having a list of "Top 5 People Who Better Hope I Never Get Diagnosed With Terminal Cancer"

1st thing I'd do would be to quit my job and travel the world, its something I always wanted to do anyways.

That's an issue that came to mind when I wrote the post. Part of it is selfishness, wanting to leave some kind of legacy behind, a lasting mark that doesn't involve infamy. I'd do my best to make sure the children were well off (Life Insurance, and lots of it. Perfectly healthy male, non smoker, perfect record)

I'd do my best to be there for them for their first 1-2 years of life. I'd have faith in my wife to bring them up right. I made this choice mostly because it seems like the best option - to me, there's really isn't anything more worthwhile. Call me traditional, but my goal in life is to have a family and do things that I enjoy to do. The 3 year limit kind of cramps the schedule, but I feel it's the best that can be done with the time given.

Yes. Try to "find myself".
