Cannot beleive it. Ive been at school 3 weeks...and my bike has already been stolen. Granted, it was a really nice mountain bike (mongoose)....but still, I locked it up every single time, and used it numerous times a day.....and if fvcking got stolen. Needless to say I am pissed :mad; but I guess there isin't anything I can do about it.....Guess i gotta go get a new one 🙁

Looks nicer than it really was

Sorry to hear JuiceBox. This is the reason I ride a well-tuned pink ladies 10speed with 26" wheels; nobody wants that fugly thing. Rarely even lock it.
edit:sp?

damn that is still rough, it could have been worse, they could have stolen the bike while you were riding it. ....

i don't bring my bike to school for that exact reason. i need my bike to train, but a french road bike doesn't do well outside in the elements.

Next time get this lock: New York Fahgettaboudit

From what I've been hearing the crooks will have to steal the whole bike rack before they'll break this lock. Either way it'll stop casual and moderate theft.
And if it does get stolen due to them breaking the lock they'll pay up to $3500 to replace your bike. Course this doesn't work if they do something like take a cutting torch and cut through the bike rack or destroy whatever it's attached. Probably best to run the lock through the frame and the front tire.

What kinda lock did you use? 1 lock or multiple locks?

a combo lock (one of the coiled cable ones)

a woman at work rides a bike around, kept it locked with a combo lock

one night shes at home, some guy knocks on her door and hands her the lock "get one with a key" he says, and leaves.

very true....:-/ Still kinda pissed it happened so soon...oh well, sh!t happens i guess

If you value your bike, you should've went w/ U locks. Bike thieves suck, but you should at least do your part to deter them.

the bike should be covered under your parents homeowners insurance...mine was

I'll have to ask them about that one...I don't know if they ever got around to filing it or not though

My roommate in college had that lock... for a couple of weeks. Deadbolt cutters > chain.
