Wow, are you incompetent. I thought any football fan knows that box scores don't always tell the story. Yes it turned into a rout, but Penn State was in contention until the very last three minutes of the game.

ESPN description..

No. 1 Ohio State survives Penn State on two late defensive TDs...

Just that quickly -- a span of a little under 12 minutes, the last two TDs separated by less than 90 seconds -- the Buckeyes made the win appear easier than it really was.

But hey if you don't want to believe my words or those of ESPN.. here, go read the words of the players and coaches...

"In the Big Ten, it's always a four-quarter game," Ohio State coach Jim Tressel said. "We won a four-quarter game."

"The game lived up to exactly what it was supposed to be," Ohio State center Doug Datish said. "It was a backyard brawl."

"We were very competitive until the end when we made two major mistakes," [Joe Paterno] said

And if you still want to use your faulty logic with half a game. PSU was up 3-0 at halftime vs. Ohio, while Notre Dame was up 20-0 on PSU at halftime.
Don't forget the Buckeyes were playing with home field advantage AND JoePa wasn't even coaching for half the game. :D

A. poor weather largely negated homefield advantage
B. JoePa hasn't been coaching for years now (yes he's still the "head coach", but he's more of a figure head; I never see him "coaching" during any of their games - he just paces the side lines)

Good game for Arizona. I went to it (like all of the home games). Our Defense was great. Our Offense was bad like it always is. We have no O-line or QB (as usual), other than that, who knows. UofA gave USC a gimme touchdown near end of the game (punt returner make a big mistake... tried to fair catch it when he should of let it go and bobbled it away), USC scored on the next play. Even so, it was not a blowout, and we played with them for 4 quarters. Was really surprising...especially when Zona was struggling with Stephen F. Austin last week...No, not a player, a team. This is the first game of the year where Zona actually looked like they might be able to make a bowl game. I was really disappointed in them until today, i thought they might of taken a step backward, that could still be the case though.

*yawn* They're called Ohio State and not "Ohio." Sheesh. Anyway, I never once said that PSU didn't play them tough. However, I watched both games (PSU/ND and OSU/PSU), and I would feel very easy saying OSU was the better team. PSU's D played a little better and OSU didn't challenge as much vertically as they could have. Tressel didn't play this game aggressively. He played this game to win -- and win only -- something he's done for years.

There's no faulty logic I'm using. LSU raped Arizona in the 1st Half and put subs in. USC had starters in until the last play of the game. Yet, somehow, USC is considered a better team than both Auburn and LSU.

USC is considered "good" because their goal is to always run up the score. Carroll knows that's one way to convince the pollsters. In the SEC, because of the schedule, if you've got a big lead your starters are out. The grind of a SEC schedule makes it impossible to play starters later if you want to keep fielding a football team.

Last time I checked, when USC played a "real" football team they lost in the Championship game. They used ineligible players for their other championship. USC fans should cry more. Your team sucks -- even when you cheat.

ummm the spread was USC -21...they didnt beat it...thus it wasnt a blowout

What if the spread was 75 and they won by 70?

Still a blowout...just not as big a blowout as the odds makers predicted.

Then you should have watched the game, because it wasn't even close to being a blowout.

good game, usc has lost so many players this year and they are still playing pretty well, the defense which was the main problem last season is playing well too. i dont care about the spreads as long as they keep winning that is all that matters.
