What exactly is this for? Is this for the fan on your video card? Cause I remember the power cable on the fan being 2 pins. Or am I wrong? I'm a newbie..don't know..-_-

Lots of people use them to connect the 3 pin CPU fan to the 4 pin power supply, rather than the 3 pin connector on the motherboard directly. Sometimes if you connect a CPU fan that draws a lot of power directly to the motherboard it causes issues or might even overload it. It might or might not be necessary in every case, but it sure is a pretty cheap insurance policy!

And normally, if you live in a hick place like me and can't buy it in town, you'd spend a fortune to ship it, so IMO the free shipping is the best part of the deal!

Thanks Stingygrrl. These will go with my Panaflo L1As that I bought thanks to this thread:

Cheap Fans

Also bought fan screws ($1.79 plus shipping for 25) from here

Last time they did that, I ordered something like 20 of them; but it was after the sale had ended. They still gave me the sale price. And they did ship it pretty quickly for me; think it only took 2 days via USPS.

Great deal, Thanks.

They must have got better at shipping, ordered this morning and they shipped this afternoon.

The slow shipping last time was because of the USPS mail slowdown after 9-11 and the anthrax cr@p. They shipped my order the same day but it took USPS 2 weeks to get it from CA to AL. So it really wasn't SVC's fault. All other orders I have placed with them before and after were shipped same day or next day if I ordered at night.

Actually they were swamped with orders last time and had to wait to restock them, blame it on the Anandtech effect. :) I know since I emailed them asking when they'd get more adapters in stock, the CSR actually mentioned this forum by name.

I ordered a HSF combo around 3pm EST, and had a tracking number (USPS) three hours later. I read several posts complaining about SVC's shipping, but I certainly can't fault it and the USPS slowdown probably had a huge impact on most USPS shippers. I like having stuff shipped Priority, as I at least have a chance of receiving it on Sat instead of my UPS package sitting in a warehouse all weekend.

Got a Golden Gate HS coming with a YS 40cfm fan on top, guess I am going to have to use headphones to hear the audio from my TV card but my T-bird will be cool.
