1. Life after college stinks. Everyone moves away and you have to rely on facebook to keep up with everyone. it kind of stinks when you cannot relate to any of your coworkers. The only thing keeping me sane are my old classmates from grade school and high school.

2. You cannot trust your local govt to make informed decsions. There was talk about MA raising the tax rate from 5% to 6.25%. I heard this a few months ago and I thought, "oh, there is no way that will pass...that is gonna get shot down" and all the state politicians were against it. Low and Behold, By July 1st, increased tax rate could be here. What is in the way? Deval Patrick saying no....yeah, like I really have faith in him.

3. Women...nuff said.

1) we didn't have facebook till what... early last year? We graduated in 1995 hs and 2000 college... we lost touch with a lot more people than your generation. Classmates.com was our best bet and it required a subscription... and nobody even wanted to setup profiles there to begin with. Facebook pwned it so fast...

Things I've learned:

1) Naps rock.

2) The more people in your life, the shorter the length of time you can do anything without being disturbed.

3) If you marry someone that actually enjoys doing laundry, your marriage will last forever.

#3....that is pretty good advice. My gf enjoys cooking and cleaning, but she hates laundry.

People... can actually enjoy doing laundry? We need to isolate the gene or whatever that causes that, we'll be rich!

Deval Patrick is the most disappointing politician of my lifetime. I'm young, but man that guy promised the moon and has delivered nothing. He shows no initiative, no leadership, and has no idea how to fix anything in the state. I was all in favor of his proposal to eliminate the Turnpike Authority, but then I saw how he wanted to divide the Pike and basically spread the debt around instead of dealing with it directly. These days I can't imagine he does much thinking besides trying to figure out how much of the federal bailout money he can steal.

State politics in MA are mostly a mess which is a shame because there are a lot of young energetic creative people out there with ideas and hopes to fix it, but it seems like those people aren't in positions to make much of a difference.

Sigh

not to turn this into a P&N, but I agree. It seems that Deval wants no more of it and he is just sitting back and waiting till his term ends. His answer to everything seems to be take debt, put it elsewhere, then ask people to help recover it. Everything is a shell game with him.

yeah didn't you have to pay for classmates.com? i think thats why i didnt use it.

though the idiots who were in charge of my high school reunion used it. only people that were registered on classmates.com got invitations..if not for word of mouth we wouldn't have known when it was. even then only like less then 1/4th showed up.

what i have learned

1) taxes are always going to go up. no matter what and the government always does things that don't make sense and ALL politic ans lie, cheat and have no clue what is really going on.

2) friends move away. that does not stop you from seeing them. It also gives you a chance to make new friends.

3) work sucks. friends you get from work will not bother to call or hang out after they or you leave the job. And they will stab you in the back to get a promotion (seen this as a manager. amazing what others will do if they think they have a chance at a promotion). Also work is not as important as you think it is.

4) women? i have been married 11 years (well as of tomorrow) and everything about it changes every year. don't try to understand it or control it.

My wife does it every day- she likes the smell of fresh sheets, likes folding clothes while watching TV, has fun coming up with concoctions to remove stains...go figure.

This is truth.

I dont care about sex. I havent had much lately and its unlikely I'll get any again.
Would rather go back to carefree days of kindergarden. Was much happier.

The trick is to make them think you suck at doing laundry. Throw in lights and darks in the same load and they will go ape shit and never let you do laundry again. :)

The 3 things I have learned as I've grown up.
1. Childhood memories should stay that way, Assholes looking to make a buck should stop ruining our memories of Transformers, GI Joe and various other things we watched that they keep "re-imagining"

2. Girls are still yucky (Once a chick is comfortable around you and farts WATCH THE FUCK OUT)

3. No matter how old you get, playing on the jungle gym is still fun.

1. You can't trust anyone, with the possible exception of your wife and possibly your parents if you have a good relationship with them.
2. You get what you pay for
3. No matter how good you are, there will always be someone better/smarter/faster than you. Never assume you know everything about a subject.
