First...welcome to all those who have joined! :D

DSLR now has two big guns....they have the power of about 700 PC's between them...and the potential for more... the only way to overcome them is to have more members that make the difference..and we can't even claim that...as they have almost 300 more members than we do...1662 vs 1949....so that's why we need your help.

Please read the posts below and help..You'll find a great group of TeAm members and a great forum in the DC forum to make friends and have fun...come on..join up and let the fun begin! :D We look forward to welcoming YOU to the TeAm! :D

TeAm AnandTech Easy to Install SETI guide...please use the CLI version install :)

Update: Quotes from DSLR members and what they think of AnandTech and our (YOUR) TeAm:

Team AnandTech is good during a challenge, but the difference between TA and DSLR Team Starfire is persistence. Starfire doesn't slack off after a challenge. We maintain our increased production. TA will fall asleep again, within a few weeks of the finish and we'll cut their lead and pass them.

and

Don't get upset at the amount of time the TA guys spend here. Since you've visited their site and read their threads, you should understand why they prefer to spend most of their time here. Let them enjoy themselves for a change. It's soooooo boring over there. >>

Read these and see what kind of respect AnandTech receives...

Started a new thread as the old one was large and potentially hard to read by all....

Thanks to all who have joined and a warm welcome as well...but we need more....

DSLR has their big producer back (about the power of 700 PC's or so)...and he's helping them pull away. Can the AnandTech faithful...with all the members...and all the PC's let this happen.....

I hope not! :Q Please Join..

***Notice to all those who have joined and are using the CLI and SETIDriver....Please make sure to add the shortcut to the STARTUP folder to insure that it will RESTART if your PC is restarted**

Previous thread info...

Hello all.....

It's that time again....we have been challenged to a new race with DSL Team Starfire...

The last race was a great growing experience for both teams but was ended just short of completion because of the sad day of September 11th.

Since then though, team DSL Starfire has outgrown and outproduced us considerably.....now it's our turn!!! :Q:Q:Q

A new race has started and we need your support.....all it takes is a few extra cpu cycles...just a few. The clients use spare CPU cycles in the search for signals and other signs from space for intelligent life or anomolies. They are easy to use, have little (mostly NO) impact on your system (even in benchmarks) and also help science too :)

Come on over to the DC forum and see what TeAm AnandTech is all about...you'll be glad you did!!! :D

Race Rules thread! :)

Race Start Thread (with stats links)

What team DSL Team Starfire thinks of AnandTech! :Q

TeAm Welcome thread with client information and setup links :)

Come on guys...put that new PC to work....support this great site and a great TeAm...

Team AnandTech needs your help.......please answer the call and defeat the DSL team...you'll be glad you did! :D

Team AnandTech Strikes back! :Q Buwhahahaha!

Race stats.....click me!

Hooray for 2 DC threads on the first page of Hot Deals. Just resign yourselves to the fact you're going to get beat.

The second thread wasn't needed, and the third isn't for sure.

Hey, shurato. It's highly unlikely that you'll see much impact on your connection from SETI@Home. The SETI client only accesses the internet when it's done processing a work unit, which for a T-Bird 1.4 is about every 5 hours. So, it'll only use your connection once every 5 hours, and when it does the new work unit it downloads is only about 300KB, which only takes a minute or two to download on a dialup connection.

Happy crunching! :)

Good morning AnandTech! :)

We're in for the race of our life...and you could be part of it!

Please joing! :)

One thing to consider...if you don't think that this could be interesting....just look at some of the members who bump these threads religously...they have joined the TeAm in the last 2 weeks and have been giving it hell....and having a blast too! :Q

As competitive as I am, I'd love to help, but I'm already running the United Devices program to help with Cancer Research. Does anyone have experience running them both?

My Duron 750 has over 30 WUs under its belt so far.. :p

Soon to be a 1Ghz Tbird - a little faster, perhaps :)

Hey Engineer, I have to ask (as I start the sign-up process)...how in the hell do those 2 guys have the power of 700 PC's between them? Someone playing with the corporate mainframe late at night?

They must be network admins for a fairly large company is all I can figure.

Not sure...some super servers (SGI with multiple processors I think)...

Here's some indication:

My Dual 1.4 GHz TBird (2.8 Total) put's out around 10 to 11 WU's per day...

Bandai from DLSR has put out over 2000 per day and Stone is putting out close to 900 per day lately! :Q

2000 / 10 * 2.8GHz = 560 GHz (Equivalent TBird power)
Stone = about half...or 280GHz power....

Now you see what we are up against! And there are 1948 other members on that team too! We have 1683!

That is why we need more...more....more! No way to overcome all that power without more members, more PC's, more WU's and more fun (to get more of the first 3)..:)

Welcome to all...

and Thank you very much! :)
