3 sticks of 128 mb sdram on Asus CUSL2?

If i remember correctly, if you run more than 2 sticks of ram on a cusl2, due to chipset limitations or something, u can only run the memory at 100 fsb or something, as the CUSL2 only officially supports 2 PC133 DIMM's. However, under the Anandtech review of this board in July, they said the CUSL2 had no problem running 3 DIMM's in PC133 mode. I am thinking of getting 2 more additional sticks of 128mb ram if they can run in pc133 mode fine but if it can only run 2 sticks smoothly, I will just get one more stick. Thus, plz report about your overclockability with 2 and 3 sticks of ram on your cusl2, thx 🙂

PS I'm gonna get either 2 or 3 sticks of Mosel Vitelic 128mb ram and want to run them at CAS 222 143fsb 7t/9t. You guys think its possible? I am running one stick just fine at this setting. Thx

I had 1 256mb + 2 128mb = 512 and it ran better than my 2 256mb = 512. It started to act weird when 2 256mb was in, someone here recommended turning the SDRAM Strength to strong and it seemed to solve the problem. All crucial PC133 7.5ns

I have a system here in the office running 3 sticks just fine. I think the CUSL2 is one of the few i815 boards that can "tolerate" having all DIMM slots filled and 133Mhz FSB. It's been running 1 month on 2 sticks of 128MB PC133 Kingston Infineon and 1 stick of PC133 Mushkin Budget. the processor is a P3-700E OCed to 933Mhz.

Try to get single sided DIMMs...the CUSL2 seems to work better with single sided DIMMs if you have all 3 slots filled. Remember to put SDRAM driving force to strong for extra stability.

im not sure if it was the CUSL 2 or not, but some boards loase the first slot when a large heatsink is used fr overclocking.

Hey Andy, I think that SDRAM strong tip you gave me solve my problem... I'm using crucial 256mb pc133, it's double sided, so 2 stick = 4 sides.. works great now..
