It makes it through the memory test ..... then beeps three times ........ and then what?
System tries to load the OS?

I'm sure to get some help .... you will need to provide more system information ........ components, os etc.!

One beep = refresh error, two beeps = parity error, and three beeps = base 64k memory error. For all three error codes:
1. Try taking out your RAM sticks and reseating them.
2. If that does not fix the problem and you have more than one bank of RAM, take out the first bank of RAM and move the second bank of RAM to the first bank's slot (leave the first bank of RAM out and then power up your PC to test it) -you may have a bad SIMM or DIMM. If the RAM you had in bank two works fine in bank one's slot, then the RAM that was in bank one is bad.
3. If both solutions fail, replace your motherboard.

Ditto what ...... amdskip .... said, with the following exception :

All of your memory sticks (brand) could possibly be incompatable with your mb/chipset (whatever) so ...........
Before you replace your mb ...... try another brand or higher rated memory ...... and/or ....... set your memory timing in bios to a less agressive setting and do all the above again .... !

i read that thread b4 i made the original post......that didn't seem to be it.....after it makes the three beeps, it acts like it's trying to shut down, but then it kind of keeps trying to start up, beeps x3, etc....by the way, this is with a blank hard drive that i just bought and a brand new antec true power 330w

3 beeps on any ASUS motherboard indicates memory or video problem.
