3 questions ( sata drive, laptop cpu, wireless router

alright i ahve 3 questions in my mind right now

recently i bought a 120 Gb sata drive from fry's the thing was it was one of those REDUCED price oens its a maxtor sata drive though, like a week ago it started making sounds, but now it stoppped, it quiet now, but yeah if it happens again waht should i do? just leave it?

my sister's laptop was running well until about 2 months ago, im not sure but i think it overheats the cpu and the comptuer shuts off, it usually shuts off when tranfering music to an ipod ot encoding videos, i was wondering if i laptop cooling pad would help it stay on, the computer is a dell inspirion 5150

and my last question, my sister is movign into an apartment with 3 other people, and the thing is they need a wireless router, i don't know anything about routers, and im looking into vuying one for her today, they are all running on laptops so i think they all already have the wireless adapters, but i wa wodnering what type of wireless router would be good for them, and if its easy to use and stuff, thanks! ( someone pelase explain wireless- g and wireless-b to me please)

RMA the drive, OEM usually have a 1yr warranty

trying gettin a can of air and blowing out the vents and what not, if that doesn't work you may need to reseat the heatsink and clean then reapply thermal paste

get a wireless g router. the difference between b and g is b is 11Mbps MAX vs 54Mbps MAX of g, g will have alittle better range. Also be sure to set up WEP or WPA security on the wireless network so other ppl in the apartment won't leach of their internet. brand isn't too big of a deal as long as you don't get some no name generic router.
