3-PIN to 4-PIN Adapter w/ seperate RPM connector question...

He's my question, I just got two 80mm Panaflo 24CFM/21.0dBA case fans. They already have a 3-PIN connector on them, but only two wires are actually connected. I also purchased two 3-Pin to 4-PIN adapters w/ seperate RPM connectors attached because I need the 4-PIN connection to power the Panaflo's. Now, do I just take the seperate RPM connector and connect it to my M/B so that I can monitor their speed, or is other wiring involved. Please pardon my dumb question as it's late, I'm tired, & can't think 😕 Thanks for your time.

RPM sensor models have three wires, the yellow being the sensor wire. Unfortunately you got the wrong ones.

The fans mentioned, "80mm Panaflo 24CFM/21.0dBA ", do not have the third, yellow rpm sensing wire so they will not work for this.

80mm Panaflos only have two wires. The 92mm model's picture shows a connector for third wire. Don't know if this connection will work.

On two of my fans there are no yellow wires. There is a red (12 volt), a black (ground) and a blue one which must be RPM sensor wire. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies, guess I'll stick w/ them even though they won't give me RPM capability, the cost difference wasn't that much. Win some, lose some 🙁

Gene396, there are two wires on my Panaflo's. one's red and the others blue.
