3 PC's sharing @Home with a litle help from Netgear RT 314...

In situation when all 3 PC's are downloading files, are they sharing bandwidth equally, same speed all 3, or depending on who started download first or maybe who is connected to the port 1, he has faster connection. My friends and I are trying to be as fair as possible.

this all depends on the site they are downloading from, i mean are you talking about intenet sites? or transferring over lan, depends on the pcs processor, network card, ram, etc. there are many factors to take into account. but for all practical purposes, the site that has the most bandwith, you will get the fastest download from, it will hog the bandwith from the slower sites, but if they are equally fast, the load will be balanced, so to speak. also, shouldnt matter what port someone is connected to on the router.
