3 pci express 16

With 3 pci express 16 slot motherboard and three monitors would it be possible to run two cards in either sli or crossfire mode for the center monitor and allow the other card to run the other two adjacent monitors? Obviously all three cards would be the same manufacture and if needed the same model. I'm just wondering if it would actually work and of course would the speed benefit be there for the center monitor?

That would not work with Nvidia/SLI. You turn multiple display mode on or multi gpu mode. There is no hybrid unless you can mod the drivers yourself. I haven't heard of any success with that yet. You can definitely switch between the two modes but there isn't a hybrid setting.

I'm not familiar with how crossfire would workout in that department. I suspect it's a similar situation. Hopefully somebody else can confirm that for you.

SLI does not support multiple displays. Crossfire does but I don't know if you can have 2 crossfire while the other works on the 2 side monitors. You could just go TRI/Quad or just 2 card crossfire and plug all 3 screens on it.
