Was a bit worried this mount wouldn't work because I previously used it with a 22", but the package says it supports "up to 50lbs."
If I understand correctly, the scaler chip (Silicon Optix Realta HQV) is known to overheat in this display, causing problems that can be temporarily "fixed" by re-flowing the solder, or permanently fixed by re-balling with lead-based solder (and / or cooling the chip somehow).
My friend did the re-flow and sold it to me for $400. I think I won't have a reoccurring issue if I always stay at native 2560x1600 resolution to reduce / eliminate load on the scaler chip. The crazy features of this monitor seem to encourage users to put a lot of stress on the scaler: IR blaster for controlling TV components, loads of input connections (only the dual-link DVI-D connector supporting native rez), HD PiP, etc. I also configured NVIDIA Control Panel so scaling is handled by the GPU and the monitor always gets a 2560x1600 signal, but that's probably not necessary because I'll be doing everything at native rez.
Despite the value of this item, I'm mounting it with zip ties.
Yeah. 😎
