I currently have an ATI radeon 9600pro running 2 compaq MV940s, I have a peice which I believe to be able to bring outside video signal into my computer and send signals out. (After looking at it, it has 2 yellow ends (S-video and RCA in) and 2 black ends (the same going out) which come to 1 black end that plugs into the spot between the VGA and DVI ports on my vid card.)

Now my questions are:

Can I use that to have a TV as a third monitor?

Do I need any software or drivers for a third monitor?

Can I plug, say, my Xbox into it at the same time?

thx for your help

That's an S-video to RCA connector. I have one of those connecting my 9600XT to my TV (play AVI files on TV)

It really depends on the video card. With my GF2 Ti, I can only use 1 monitor at a time. With my FX5200 (same version drivers), I can use multiple monitors. With my 9600XT, I can use multiple monitors. I would assume the answer is yes, but you'll have to just try it.

Your card will either support it or it won't. You shouldn't need any drivers.

You sure can
