3 monitors on one computer

1) Any AGP card + pci dual head card ( matrox makes those)
2) Matrox parahelia -3 head display
3) ATI 9700( I think 8500 too) are dual heads..Add a pci video card
4) Gf4-Tis most of them are dual heads. add a pci card

You might have to add one or more dvi to vga converter depending on what monitors you have

So if I picked up the 9700 for example. And added the other PCI card would the monitor on that PCI card have crappy performance? 😉 ANd whats the best bang for the buck? Thanks. 🙂

It is also possible to do 1 AGP + 2 PCI.

in a multiple monitor situation, you are generally only going to be playing games on one monitor, so the performance of the PCI card would never be noticed.

I don't know what you have right now, but I would get a decent AGP card and something along the lines of a dual head GeForce2 MX PCI. You could also get 2 TNT based cards for your secondary monitors.

For my dual monitor setup I have a GF3 Ti200 and a GF2MX. Having them both NVIDIA cards is convienent, it limits conflicts and when you install a driver, it automatically installs it for both cards.

check out pricewatch.com for the prices of the cards.
