3 MOBOs COMPARISON!

this, along with another place, will determine which one of these boards i will be purchasing. there are 3 boards; ASUS, DFI, and ECS. after this eval, i will move one step higher. these boards will be a little more expensive, and of course, a little better performance. thus, comparing price to value, i persume that i would have bought the perfect board.

things to keep in mind:

a) i will be using an opteron 144 with this and will be overclocking it with an XP-120, 1 or 1.5GB of RAM, 16x DVD-RW, 120GB SATA HDD (for now), and a 6600GT video card eventually; or
b) i will be using an Opteron X2 165, probably overclocking it, also with an XP-120, 1.5 or 2GB of RAM, 2x16x DVD-RW drives, 160GB SATA HDD (for now), and a 6600GT video card eventually

i'm not sure if the results will be different because of these confiurations, however im wondering.

here are the boards:

ASUS A8N-VM CSM:

DFI NF4 DAGF:
http://infonec.ca/site/main.php?module=detail&id=13167

ECS NFORCE4-A939:
http://infonec.ca/site/main.php?module=detail&id=10236

thanks a lot.

found an ASUS A8V-M CSM elsewhere, just closed the deal. i wont be doing much O/Cing since the MINIMUM cpu is gona be a 3500+ which flies at stock. i will see how far i can go with an XP-120 on it and still be happy if it goes no where.

unfortunately, the mobo was found soon after this thread, which dubs it pointless.

thanks a lot though. considerations for my next upgrade (hopefully more than a year an a half away, at LEAST!)
