Can I run 3 sticks of memory @ 432mhz dual channel on my Mb.
I currently have 2x256 running fine.
Will this setup work?
1st channel: 2x256
2nd channel: 1x 512
The memory type, mfg, timings will be the same (Muskin, level one, 2-3-3)

Anyone done this, or something close?

Setup:
Athon XP-m 2500 oc to 2376 mhz 11x216, 2.65 vc
MB - Abit NF7-S.
Memory - Mushkin Level One 512 MB, 256x2, 2-3-3
Video Card - Power Color 9800Pro 128
Audigy2 ZS
HDD - Western Digital 100gb Spec ed

I'm thinking of doing something similar, I have 2 sticks of 256MB Mushkin PC2700 in my Shuttle MN31N with an Athlon XP 2500, and want to add a 512MB stick in my third slot.

I'm wondering if running three sticks totalling 1GB in single channel mode will hurt performance significantly compared to 512MB running in dual channel.

Anyone done this that can comment on our situations? ziscwg have you tried it yet?

Dual channel makes virtually no performance improvement over single channel on an Athlon XP unless using the integrated graphics on an NF2 IGP. The FSB simply can't utilize the extra bandwidth.

I'm sure you can run that all at 216MHz, but go ahead and try it in single channel mode first.

1GB of RAM in single channel will be better than 512MB in dual channel.

It worked: 3 sticks running at 432,
2x256 and 1x512. Timings: 2-3-3-11
All the same make and rating. Mushkin Level One 3500.
I guess I have to change my signature now................

By the way:
They do run in dual channel...

Thanks again
