CBS made it sounds much dramatic. The said something about a gangbang rape and I was like wtf? Hopefully it didn't happen

High school students were touring the school. It was a supervised tour (good job those ppl did).

Really sucks, but I hate how the media is trying to blame the school for being unsafe. It is a public school and it is open to the public. It basically does everything it can do w/o being overbearing and a complete pain in the @ss.
 
gosh it only took a WEEK for this to show up in the news?! talk about hushed.

what i heard: the guys were let into the building. they didn't have an ID card (you need to swipe your ID for the doors to open) so the just followed someone in. it happens all the time - you don't know everyone that lives in the building. these buildings because the door opens ONLY to those residents, do not have security monitors like they do at the res halls.

they picked a door, knocked, she let them in ... and well...

I guess this is kinda like 9/11. No one took any precautions because no one thought something like this would ever happen. I guess we always have to prepare for the worst 🙁

The talk of having monitors at the doors is moot. because at the halls that do have monitors, the door monitors are only there from 9pm. to 6 or 7 a.m.

It could have happened at Hedrick,Dykstra,Sproul,Reiber, which most of you would have considered "safe" because they have door monitors.

It's a shame that it happened, but what can the school do?

It was bad enough when the made you sign in guests at night. the door monitor people had sh-tty jobs dealing with people Only one person per card swipe in the door? The drunk kids coming home would have sh-t fits. It would probably be hysterical to watch though 🙂
 
Man, Rapes are bad, I don't do rapes. I mean WoW. Was the girl drunk or anything? Were the guys drunk also? I hear parties there get out of hand quickly. Still a tragedy nonetheless 🙁

This also makes me wonder how Guys get raped? I mean, if I was getting raped (by a GIRL) I don't think I'd say.. "umm please miss, don't do this. I plead you, you will forever tarnish my feelings towards the feminine cause. I will be forever regretful and spiteful of my pen!s." I mean if a girl tied me up and wanted to do me, and I DIDNT want to do her. I have no say in the matter because Mr. W!nky controls the playing field. Woah!! I can write a book about this...

oh and remember marie latourney that teacher who had 2 babies with her underaged highschool loverboy. the father legally has to pay for child support, even when he's still a child. and then their michael jackson, dont go there.

Yeah seriously... I came on expecting questions about it last Friday, but there was nothing until now?

Anyway... I live on the floor where it occurred and I pretty much know what happened, and you essentially got the idea of what happened, but that's not exactly what happened. I'll just leave it at that.

And the stuff about people being scared, it seems kinda like BS... if you came and visited our floor, you wouldn't even know that it ever happened.

I suggested to my RA that they install video cameras on the doors and record the videos with about weeklong intervals before recycling tapes, but I dunno if they're actually going to do anything. She did mention they might be as drastic as to make you swipe for each door on each floor. That would majorly suck.
