Hi,

I'd like some suggestions on what you guys would do if you were me...

i got 1 wd raptor (new version) 74gb
1 seagate barracuda 7200.11 500 gbs 32 mbs cache
and
1 WD black 500gbs 32 mbs cache

i play video games sometimes, but mostly i'm looking for a performance set-up.

Thanks.

If I were you, I'd ask a question. As hard as we try, we can't read minds yet.😉

Install your OS on the raptor, then install your games to the Black drive, and use the seagate for storage.

how would you setup them?

What are you using them for? Just surfing the net? storage? video encoding? web server? folding@home?

I do a little bit of everything.

trade stocks, pictures, music, video games, surf the net, test OSes etc.

I would say the only sensible thing to do with them is RAID the raptor and segate together in a RAID 1 configuration. Then for off-site backup CAREFULLY take a platter off the WD Black and use it as media for a Blue Ray Drive, and then RAID the black/BD together and use it for your offsite backup. Oh yea ur going to need 2 raid cards; i recommend these because ur going to need some backups incase they fail. http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16816116055

OR

"Install your OS on the raptor, then install your games to the Black drive, and use the seagate for storage. "

*edit* make sure u get any cables u need cuz that link from newegg doesnt supply any

how much SPACE do you need?
buy a 64GB indlinx or 80GB intel SSD for your OS... use one of the 500GB drives for storage (the WD I suggest), sell the other 500GB drive and the raptor.
