Board 1
This one is the S3, not the DS3. It's pretty similar except it uses a mix of solid and electrolytic capacitors.

Board 2
This one is a DS3 revision 1.3. It is like the more expensive board except has fewer fan headers and perhaps something else. Note that it kinda sorta officially supports FSB 1333 through overclocking.

Board 3
This is the "normal" DS3. Now, Newegg does not make a distinction between revision 2 and revision 3.3. If you got a two, then sucks to be you. If you got a 3.3, then that's good as it adds the kinda sorta FSB 1333 support.

The BIOS of all three are pretty similar if not identical and according to Gigabyte the S3 and DS3 models should all overclock the same. YMMV.

The number of fan headers doesn't really bother me; I tend to run my fans straight from the PSU via 3-pin to 4-pin converters, anyway. Of the two DS3 boards, I guess I would be better off going with the rev 1.3 than gambling on getting a rev.2 instead of a rev. 3.3?

should I go with the rev. 1.3 at Newegg, or look at a different board?

Personally, I would not get the v1.3. There are v1.3, v2.0 and v3.3. As to which one you get, it depends on price. v3.3 should be around $130+/-
