just to let some of you know, I been seeing a couple of things on the net saying there could be a price drop pretty soon. I bet it is just rumors but in 3 days the card has offically been out for 1 month. (Aug 11th) So I guess will will wait and see sept 11th because the GTX's dropped right after a month...

You gotta provide the proof if you gonna say something like that.

You're so helpful! BTW, why did you create a thread that's essentially a repost of your own thread from a couple of weeks ago?

I'm really excited about this price drop. As soon as the price drops I will...not... be getting one. Damnit.

Are you serious right now? This thread needs to burn in hell.

Why would nVidia drop prices on an item that's both:

A) On top of the world

and

B) Selling like hot cakes

?

The 7800GT is supposed to replace the 6800GT and Ultra in the Nvidia product lineup.

So the lowest price we should see in the future is the ~$350-425 we are seeing on 6800GTs now.

This probably will happen over a series of price drops though.

I hope you are kidding. One can easily be found for >$290.

PCI-E, not used, and not a crap brand.

Edit: Prices must shifted significantly when the 7800GT came out. After checking around $310 seems to be the going rate, regardless. I stand by my claim of 7800GTs filling the GT/Ultra prices of around $350-425 (prior to the 7800GT release).
